The development works in Amaravati have gained renewed momentum following the formation of the coalition government. The administration has placed special emphasis on completing pending projects, accelerating the capital city’s infrastructure development. In line with this initiative, the Amaravati Development Corporation Limited (ADCL) has invited tenders for several key projects aimed at enhancing the city’s infrastructure.

ADCL has called for bids amounting to Rs. 2,903.76 crore for the construction of nine major roads. These include roads designated as E2, E5, E7, E11, E13, E15, E4, N8, and N13. In addition to road construction, the tenders also cover vital urban infrastructure works such as storm water drainage, sewage management, underground electric and internet ducting, pedestrian pathways, avenue plantations, and dedicated cycling tracks. The deadline for bid submission has been set for 4:00 p.m. on the 3rd of March, with the technical bids scheduled to be opened at 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

To ensure broader participation, the government has revised tender regulations, making it easier for more contractors to compete. Previously, only a limited number of bidders were able to participate, but with these new amendments, a greater number of firms will now be eligible to submit bids. The administration expects that this increased competition will lead to better quality work at competitive costs.

This policy change is expected to benefit smaller companies, allowing them to participate in the bidding process and secure contracts. The CRDA and ADCL have issued tenders for works worth Rs. 14,874 crore, funded through loans from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

Following approval from the Election Commission, tenders that had previously been delayed due to procedural constraints have now been reopened. These tenders will be finalized after the conclusion of the upcoming MLC elections next month, after which agreements will be signed with the selected contractors. As a result, the reconstruction and development of Amaravati’s capital region are set to commence soon, marking a significant step forward in the city's progress.
