Amaravati rebuild gains momentum

10-12-2025 12:00:00 AM

Reviewing the ongoing capital development works, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister P. Narayana toured several key project sites in Amaravati. The Minister inspected progress on the Seed Axis Road construction, the steel bridge being built over the Guntur Channel, and the infrastructure works underway in the returnable plots allotted to farmers under the land pooling scheme.

Minister Narayana asserted that infrastructure creation in the farmers’ allotted plots is moving at a rapid pace. He said that essential facilities, including drainage networks, internal roads, and core civic amenities, will be fully completed within two years.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to restore momentum in Amaravati’s development, stating that the Seed Axis Road will soon be connected to the Mangalagiri Road and opened to the public. This linkage is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and accelerate regional development.

Narayana said the government would undertake additional land pooling based on future project requirements, indicating a structured approach to upcoming expansions. Addressing long-pending concerns, he assured that issues related to Lanka lands and assigned lands acquired during pooling would be placed before the next Cabinet meeting for resolution.

The Minister noted that apart from the 11 and 8 returnable zones, infrastructure works across the remaining 29 villages of the Amaravati capital region are progressing swiftly.

Out of 66,000 returnable plots, only 7,000 remain pending registration, Narayana said. Daily registrations have now increased, with 30 to 60 farmers completing the process each day. He added that 1,891 plots meant for 450 farmers remain pending due to family-related documentation issues. These cases, along with registrations for those residing abroad, are being facilitated with officials deployed to process up to 1,000 registrations per day.

Calling on all eligible farmers to come forward, the Minister urged them to complete registrations at the earliest, assuring that the government has made full administrative support available.
