Andhra Pradesh Minister for IT, Skill Development, and Education Nara Lokesh successfully concluded his seven-day tour of Australia, covering four major cities. Describing the visit as highly productive, Lokesh expressed confidence that the discussions held with academic, industrial, and trade leaders will soon translate into meaningful collaborations for Andhra Pradesh.
Reflecting on his trip, Lokesh said the tour offered deep insights into global best practices across diverse sectors. “From universities and leading industries to India-Australia councils, seafood trade bodies, and sports complexes, it has been a deeply insightful journey,” he shared on social media.
The minister emphasized that Andhra Pradesh’s vision of becoming a $2.4 trillion economy depends on strengthening the workforce, advancing research and development (R&D), and nurturing skilled talent. “As we move towards this goal, investing in human capital and fostering innovation will be crucial,” Lokesh noted.
During his visit, Lokesh also explored new opportunities for sports-led economic development. He observed that sports can be a powerful driver of economic activity beyond recreation, contributing to employment, tourism, and infrastructure growth.
“I return enriched by the learnings, confident that many of these discussions will soon translate into meaningful partnerships for Andhra Pradesh,” he said, highlighting the potential for joint ventures in higher education, technology, research, and skill development.
Lokesh’s meetings in Australia focused on building collaborations with top universities, promoting skill-based education models, and attracting investments in emerging sectors. He also interacted with representatives of seafood trade bodies and sports associations to explore trade and training opportunities that could benefit the coastal economy of Andhra Pradesh.
