The 56th Annual General Body Meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Association for the Deaf (APAD) was held today, 28th June 2026 from 11 am to 2 pm at the Model School for the Deaf, Abdullapurmet, Pedda Amber Pet, Hayat Nagar with 150 members. In this, the school students, teachers and 70 students of the college participated in the meeting in support of Helen Killer Vidyalayam.
The event was presided over by High Court Lawyer Durga Prasad and the founder of Helen Killer Vidyalayam, Professor Pattan Umar Khan. Senior members Sri Venkat Reddy Lakshman, Narasimhulu, Sri Swamy, Sri V Chandrasekhar Reddy, SP Balreddy, Jaganmohan, Murugan, Vasudeva Reddy, T Parvathi, Vijaya Kumari, Umadevi and Model School Principal Smt. Naga Latha participated in this program.
The decisions of this 56th annual meeting of the association were approved by all the members of A.P.A.D. The following were resolved:
1) Each member renewed their membership by paying a fee of 500, and also obtained new membership by paying 500. In this, about 72 former members and about 35 new members accepted A.P.A.D. membership.
2) A.P.A.D. Association members are currently fighting for justice in two criminal and four civil cases in the High Court and District Court. The 9.15 acres of land belonging to their association was illegally sold to 6 people in the year 2009 by Shri S. Jitendra Nath Sector without the permission of the members. It was resolved that all the members should fight together to get that land back.
3) The members of the Adhoc Committee formulated by the District High Commissioner, the Collector, were informed about the members and all the members got their approval.
4) After Corona, when no one cared about the Model School for the Day for almost three years, Professor Pattan Umar Khan immediately came forward and donated about Rs. 100,000 for the maintenance expenses of the school and for repairing the unusable model school buildings, as well as for repairing windows, doors, marbles (tiles) and painting. 14,00,000/- (Lakhs) are being spent on the development of Aharnishalu Badurula and are also working to bring glory to this school by providing their financial support for the hostel building.
5) In this 56th Annual General Body Meeting, everyone agreed and regularized the appointment order of High Court Lawyer Shri Durga Prasad and Shri Niranjan Prasad, especially Shri Durga Prasad garu to take back the electricity connection in the name of the school in CGRF-2 and all the members resolved to put an end to their illegal activities with the miscreants.
The above 5 reservations were unanimously approved by 107 people and the appropriate documentary evidences were humbly submitted to the Chairperson, CGRF-2. Adhoc Committee Members and A.P.A.D. Association members all came together to fight for regularization and reclaim the encroached land, and all members were told to fight until victory is achieved.
