Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has underscored the transformative potential of technology in healthcare, particularly at the newly established All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Mangalagiri. Addressing the inaugural convocation of the institute, Naidu emphasized the need for medical students to stay abreast of advancements in deep tech and leverage these tools to revolutionize healthcare delivery.
Highlighting the state government's commitment to AIIMS, Naidu announced plans to allocate an additional 10 acres of land to the institute. He lauded the central government for establishing several premier institutions like AIIMS, IITs, and IIMs in the state. Naidu further expressed his admiration for President Droupadi Murmu, whose journey from a humble village to the highest office in the country serves as an inspiration to millions.
The Chief Minister noted that AIIMS Mangalagiri, built at a cost of Rs 1618 crore, was equipped with 960 beds and world-class infrastructure. He also expressed satisfaction with the institute's rapid progress, achieving an 8th rank nationally within a short span. Naidu set an ambitious goal for AIIMS Mangalagiri to become the top-ranked medical institution in the country.
“We have provided all necessary infrastructure, including roads, power, and water, to support AIIMS. Andhra Pradesh is committed to providing quality healthcare to its citizens, and AIIMS Mangalagiri plays a crucial role in achieving this goal,” said Naidu.
The Chief Minister also praised the institute's affordable healthcare services, with treatment available for as little as Rs 10. He reiterated the state government's vision for Amaravati, aiming to transform it into a world-class city within the next three years.
