Andhra Pradesh Congress President Y.S. Sharmila has once again launched a scathing attack on her brother and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing him of maintaining silence on the contentious issue of parliamentary delimitation. She questioned whether Jagan’s silence indicated his indirect support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s plans regarding the restructuring of constituencies.

Sharmila asserted that the proposed delimitation exercise would result in severe injustice to the southern states, including Andhra Pradesh. She alleged that Jagan’s failure to oppose the move suggested tacit approval of the Centre’s plans, which could reduce the political representation of South India in Parliament.

Expressing solidarity with the southern states, Sharmila stated that the Andhra Pradesh Congress fully supports their fight against delimitation. She emphasized that unity among regional parties was crucial in resisting the Centre’s plans, adding that only a collective and determined protest could compel Modi to reconsider the move.

Sharmila also took aim at Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, accusing them of deceiving the people by remaining silent on the issue. She demanded that both the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena Party (JSP) break their silence and take a clear stand against the delimitation proposal.

Calling for a united front, she urged all major political parties in the state—including TDP, JSP, and YSRCP—to set aside their political differences and oppose the delimitation process, which she believes would disproportionately affect Andhra Pradesh’s political landscape.
