State Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said on Sunday that women will always remain “maharanis” in the society. She was speaking on the occasion of International Women’s Day celebrations held by “Andhra Pradesh Government Nursing Association” at Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam.

She said that in a situation where even the parents are not able to take care of the children, the nursing staff are great personalities who take care of the patients who come to the hospital with full professional responsibility always like a mother. She mentioned that the services rendered by them will be of great benefit to the patient.

"Without women, there is no role of men in the society and her services need to be recognised not only for one day but continuously," she said and praised the services of women for working like a machine and working like a mother without expecting any salary. “In the past, we have had to fight for women's empowerment and voting rights. Today, women constitute more than men in the country's and state population.

Today, even governments are putting in place the first priority items for women while preparing manifestos. Every parent should raise their children responsibly and safely. Everyone in today's generation needs to learn from the women who are effectively managing the household on the one hand and the job responsibilities on the other.” the Home Minister said.
