State Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh said on Wednesday that Andhra Pradesh will be at the forefront of taking advantage of the opportunities that are emerging through the data revolution. He participated in the Investopia Global - Andhra Pradesh Conference organized by the Economic Development Board at Novatel Hotel in Vijayawada and participated in a discussion on Artificial Intelligence and data centers.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Lokesh mentioned that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is being taken as an example in the development of Artificial Intelligence(AI) technology and complimented that UAE is the first country in the world to set up an AI Ministry.
Minister Lokesh further expressed hope that Andhra Pradesh will develop into a $2.4 trillion economy in the coming days. The Minister also spoke on quantum computing at the conference and informed that South Asia's first 152-bit quantum computer will be unveiled in the state capital Amaravati in January 2026. He expressed hope that this quantum computer is going to radically transform the state's economy. "We are moving towards developing Visakhapatnam as a data city and international organizations are coming forward to set up data centres in Visakhapatnam.”he announced.
Minister Lokesh said that the government is focusing on the radical changes in the education sector, including AI and quantum computing in the curriculum and introducing skill development programs in polytechnic, degree and engineering education. He also said the government is working towards implementing AI in day-to-day administration and is providing 600 types of civic services using Watsapp governance projects known as 'Manamitra'. The event was attended by Manu Jain, CEO, G42 India and Raksha Shraddha, Vice President, Primus Partners.
