Apollo Hospitals, Jubilee Hills conducted a one-day awareness workshop, "Aging with Confidence – Solutions for Bladder & Pelvic Floor Problems," on Saturday to educate elderly women on bladder and pelvic floor disorders and encourage early medical intervention.The program brought together senior women, caregivers and family members for expert sessions on urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, bladder health and preventive care.
Free Bone Mineral Density (BMD), blood pressure and blood sugar screenings, physiotherapy demonstrations and counseling sessions were also organized. The workshop was led by urogynaecologists Dr Nirmala Papalkar and Dr Shreeja Gurrala, along with geriatric specialist Dr Dharshitha. A key highlight was the anonymous interaction session, where many women openly discussed bladder-related problems for the first time, overcoming stigma and embarrassment. Apollo Hospitals Telugu States CEO Tejesvi Rao Veerepalli said such initiatives promote awareness, encourage early treatment and help women age with dignity, confidence and better health.
