Arava Sridhar, the Jana Sena Party MLA from Railway Koduru, has resigned from his position as Assembly Whip. Sridhar met Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Saturday and submitted his resignation letter.

Confirming the development, the Jana Sena Party issued an official statement stating that Sridhar had stepped down from the post citing personal reasons. The resignation comes amid an ongoing controversy involving allegations made against the MLA by a woman employee from Railway Koduru. The allegations had triggered significant political attention in recent weeks, following which Sridhar had reportedly distanced himself from party activities for some time.

In response to the controversy, Pawan Kalyan had earlier constituted a three-member committee within the party to inquire into the matter. Sridhar appeared before the committee and reportedly clarified that he had no connection with the allegations or the dispute surrounding the issue.

However, the woman who levelled the allegations has continued releasing videos on social media reiterating her claims, keeping the controversy alive in the public domain. Against this backdrop, Sridhar’s resignation has now become a major talking point in political circles.

Party sources indicated that Sridhar also explained his position and the circumstances surrounding the allegations during his meeting with Pawan Kalyan. Nevertheless, speculation continues over whether the resignation was entirely voluntary or whether it came following advice from the party leadership in view of the ongoing controversy.
