As part of the 54th National Security Week celebrations, the awareness walkathon (walk) on safety was inaugurated at Anakapalli on Sunday by state Labour and Factories Minister Vasamsetty Subhash along with district collector Vijayakrishnan. It was held from the local NTR Stadium to the Pentakota Convention Centre.
Later, the Minister participated in a program organized at the Convention Hall. Speaking at the event, Labour Minister Vasamsetty Subhash said that safety is something that essential not just for workers but also for women, children and senior citizens. Recalling that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s aim is “Golden Andhra Pradesh”(Swarnandhra), the Minister stated that the Government is striving for the welfare, safety and security of all sections of the society.
He mentioned that not only the government but also the management should be responsible for the safety of the workers and provide them with the necessary facilities. He also called for the management to impart adequate training and awareness programs to the workers and also provide them with safety kits for additional safety. He stated that the management along with the workers should strive for zero accident with joint efforts and appealed to workers to be enrolled in their respective schemes to get insurance assistance.
