Members of the Telangana B.Ed Candidates’ Association met MLC Dr. Dasoju Sravan Kumar at Telangana Bhavan and submitted a memorandum addressed to former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao. They voiced concern over the limited scope of direct recruitment for B.Ed graduates in the ongoing DSC process for School Assistant posts.
Currently, only 30% of the posts are filled through direct recruitment for B.Ed candidates. The Association demanded this quota be raised to 70%, citing similar policies in other states and central government recruitments. They argued that with the Supreme Court’s recent ruling making B.Ed graduates ineligible for Secondary Grade Teacher positions, School Assistant posts remain the only viable option for them.
The memorandum urged the state government to address this imbalance and offer fair opportunities. In solidarity, Dr. Dasoju Sravan released the poster for a statewide padayatra planned by B.Ed candidates. The march will begin on July 10 from the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple in Yadagirigutta and end at the SCERT Office in Hyderabad. The protest aims to highlight the demand for increased direct recruitment and bring attention to what candidates describe as continued injustice in teacher selection policies.
