Minister for Roads & Buildings and Cinematography Komatireddy Venkat Reddy unveiled the poster for the ‘Bathukamma Young Filmmakers Challenge–2026’ on Tuesday, calling on aspiring filmmakers to showcase Telangana’s cultural heritage on a global platform.
The initiative aims to encourage creative talent among the youth by highlighting Bathukamma—the state's iconic flower festival—along with local folk arts, traditions, and ongoing public development and welfare programmes through short films, songs, and video content.
Speaking at the launch, the Minister urged students, young directors, and artists to participate in large numbers. "This challenge serves as a vital platform for the youth to display their creativity while promoting the state's vibrant cultural ethos and developmental progress worldwide," he said.
The launch event was attended by MLC Shankar Naik, Telangana State Film Development Corporation (FDC) Managing Director G. Mukunda Reddy, State Government Creative Director Raj Konda, and former Setwin Chairman Giridhar Reddy.
