The BC Welfare Association has welcomed the Congress government's decision to allocate ministerial positions to leaders from marginalized communities, calling it a significant step toward social justice.
BC Welfare Association National President Jajula Srinivas Goud praised Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for his commitment to ensuring fair representation in governance. He highlighted that the party’s caste census initiative aims to distribute political positions based on population demographics.
"In Telangana, after a comprehensive caste census, Rahul Gandhi has resolved to ensure that every community receives its rightful share in governance. As part of this commitment, today's ministerial appointments reflect the Congress party’s dedication to social justice," Goud stated in a press release.
He further noted that the Congress party had previously allocated MLC positions exclusively to BC, SC, ST, and women candidates. Additionally, out of 66 top party positions, 40 were given to BC, SC, and ST leaders. The appointment of three ministers from marginalized communities today reinforces this commitment.
Goud extended his gratitude to Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, and TPCC President B. Mahesh Kumar Goud for their efforts in implementing social justice within the party and government.
He urged the government to extend this principle to nominated posts, recruitment processes, and all appointments, ensuring representation based on population proportions. He also announced plans to meet Rahul Gandhi soon to advocate for greater priority to BC communities and express appreciation for his support in achieving caste census reforms.
