In a swift response to the recent terror attack in Kashmir, BJP Andhra Pradesh President Daggubati Purandeswari convened a teleconference with party leaders, urging them to organize candlelight rallies across the state as a mark of protest and solidarity.
The tragic incident, which left the nation in shock, claimed multiple lives, including that of a person from Visakhapatnam. Expressing deep condolences to the bereaved families, Purandeswari emphasized that the rally should serve as a unified stand against terrorism, rising above political lines.
“This barbaric act has shaken us all,” she said. “Let us come together to express our grief and anger, and pay tribute to the victims. I appeal to all BJP cadres to lead peaceful candlelight rallies in every town and city.” Highlighting the apolitical nature of the initiative, she invited all organizations and institutions—irrespective of political affiliation—to participate in the rallies.
The BJP also confirmed that party leaders have already coordinated with local authorities and are standing by to assist the grieving family of Chandramouli, the deceased from Visakhapatnam, whose mortal remains are expected to arrive soon. Arrangements have been made to escort his body from the airport to his residence with full dignity.
