Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud called upon party leaders and workers to strengthen the Congress Party from the booth level and take the government’s welfare and development programmes directly to the people.

Addressing the District Congress Committee extended level meeting held in Kamareddy, on Tuesday, under the leadership of DCC President Mallikarjun, Mahesh Kumar Goud said every position in the party serves as a strong foundation for future leadership and urged cadres to work with dedication and discipline. Government Advisor Shabbir Ali, MLAs, TPCC coordinators, and district and mandal level leaders participated in the meeting in large numbers.

The TPCC Chief said the Congress government in Telangana has introduced several welfare schemes unmatched anywhere in the country, including free bus travel for women, subsidized rice distribution, free electricity, and Indiramma housing projects for the poor. He stated that the Congress government conducted a transparent caste survey, the first of its kind in the country after Independence, which later received national recognition.

Criticizing the previous K. Chandrashekar Rao led BRS government, Mahesh Kumar Goud said farmers suffered immensely during the previous regime and recalled incidents where farmers allegedly lost their lives at procurement centres. He said while BRS leaders once discouraged paddy cultivation, the Congress government is now prepared to procure 75 lakh metric tonnes of paddy from farmers.

He also accused the BJP led Central government of implementing policies favouring corporates while burdening common people with rising fuel prices and inflation. Asserting that Congress is a government of action, he expressed confidence that the party would sweep the district in the coming elections, just as it secured over 75 percent seats in recent local body and municipal elections. Mahesh Kumar Goud stressed that leadership is a responsibility and assured party workers that sincere efforts and hard work would always be recognized by the Congress Party.
