Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy launched a sharp political attack on the Bharat Rashtra Samithi, declaring that the party is a “dead body” whose “expiry date is finished,” and asserted that it has no future in the state’s political landscape.
Speaking during an informal media interaction, the Chief Minister said the BRS had already served its purpose during the Telangana statehood movement and has since lost public trust. He remarked that no amount of effort could revive a political entity that people have moved away from, adding that citizens have “broken all relations” with the family of K. Chandrashekar Rao after a decade of what he described as arrogant and high-handed governance.
Questioning attempts to float new political outfits linked to the KCR family (indirectly referring to Kavitha's TRS party), Revanth Reddy asked what relevance such parties would have when the parent party itself is struggling to survive. He pointed out that the Congress has decisively defeated BRS in four successive elections, including the 2023 Assembly polls, 2024 Parliamentary elections, 2025 Gram Panchayat polls and 2026 Municipal elections.
The Chief Minister predicted that Telangana politics would now evolve into a contest between the Congress alliance and a possible understanding between the Bharatiya Janata Party and BRS. He challenged KCR to publicly swear that he would not align with the BJP and questioned why BRS leaders were targeting Congress MPs despite their weakened position. Referring to remarks by K. Kavitha, he said KCR must first clarify her claims about his changed behavior before raising allegations against the government.
On the phone tapping case under the scrutiny of the Telangana High Court, Revanth Reddy stated that all statements are being recorded and the truth would soon emerge. He clarified that he holds no personal animosity towards KCR, describing him strictly as a political rival.
Addressing the Kaleshwaram Project controversy, the Chief Minister said the report of the Justice PC Ghose Commission remains valid and has not been set aside. CM faulted the misleading claims by the BRS on HC Stay, suggesting KCR, Harish and others were given a clean chit, which was not true.
He announced plans to meet officials of the Central Bureau of Investigation in Delhi along with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to press for a comprehensive probe based on findings from the NDSA, Vigilance, and the commission report.
