BRS MLAs stage protest over urea scarcity for Yasangi season

BRS MLAs staged a protest on the premises of the Telangana Legislative Assembly over the severe shortage of urea.

They carried placards that emphasised the struggles faced by farmers during the ongoing Yasangi (Rabi) season and shouted slogans directed at both the State and Central governments, criticising their failure to secure sufficient supplies ahead of time.

The BRS MLAs expressed scepticism about the availability of urea, which was missing from fertiliser shops, questioning whether it could be purchased through mobile apps instead.

They also blamed the Congress government for the ongoing crisis. When the police prevented the MLAs from bringing their signs into the Assembly, it sparked a brief confrontation at the location.

BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao noted that issues were only being resolved when brought up by the Opposition.

Harish Rao pointed out that funding for police personnel's surrender leaves was released only after he raised the matter in the Assembly. "If we advocate for farmers regarding urea, then urea will be provided," he stated.
