Construction of the long-awaited RTC bus depot in Peddapalli town has gathered pace, with the government aiming to complete the project before the upcoming Dasara festival. Government Whip and Peddapalli MLA Chinthakunta Vijayaramana Rao said on Thursday that the state government is committed to complete the depot within the stipulated timeline and make it operational by Dasara.
The MLA, along with Telangana RTC Managing Director Nagi Reddy, inspected the ongoing construction works and reviewed the progress with officials. During the inspection, the RTC Managing Director instructed the contractor and department officials to ensure that the construction maintains high quality standards while adhering to the scheduled completion deadline.
Officials also discussed the progress of the project and issued several recommendations to expedite the remaining work. The MLA recalled that soon after being elected, he brought the issue to the attention of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He recalled the Chief Minister approved the bus depot during the Yuva Vikasam public meeting held in December 2024 and that the government has since been working to fulfill its commitment by ensuring the project progresses rapidly.
MLA Vijayaramana Rao expressed confidence that the new depot would significantly improve public transportation across Peddapalli district by enhancing connectivity to villages and towns. He added that the facility would also create opportunities to introduce new bus services, benefiting commuters and strengthening the district's transport infrastructure.
