The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has approved a bypass road for Bhupalpally Town on NH-353 C under the 2025-26 Annual Plan for Telangana. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari conveyed the decision in a letter to Warangal MP Dr. Kadiyam Kavya, who had consistently advocated for the project.
The bypass aims to reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, and ease the burden caused by heavy coal and power plant transport. Dr. Kavya cited 576 accidents and 233 fatalities in the last three years, stressing the urgent need for alternate routing.
The estimated project cost is Rs 250 crore Rs 175 crore for construction and Rs 75 crore for land acquisition. The Union Minister confirmed the project’s inclusion and noted that tenders are being invited to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR). Further progress will follow the DPR’s approval.
Dr. Kavya welcomed the decision, calling it a significant step toward resolving long-standing traffic and safety concerns for Bhupalapally residents.
