Central Bank of India’s 115th foundation day celebrated

The Central Bank of India celebrated its 115th Foundation Day at Mumbai with a series of commemorative events. M. Nagaraju, Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, Government of India, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering he said that it was his privilege to be part of the foundation day Celebration of Central Bank of India, the first Swadeshi Bank. 

He highlighted the significant role played by Central Bank of India in strengthening the nation's banking ecosystem and further mentioned that the Retail, Agriculture and MSME (Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises) segment’s share of 72% in the bank’s loan portfolio has truly been part of the growth story of India. 

Kalyan Kumar, Managing Director & CEO of Central Bank of India highlighted the Bank's contribution to strengthening the country's economic activities through its extensive pan-India presence, with 21,492 touch points, including 4,556 branches, of which 65.14% are located in rural and semi-urban areas. 

The Bank's total business as on 30th stands at 7,37,938 crore, with Current Account Savings Account(CASA) deposits constituting 46.83% of total deposits. The MD also outlined various initiatives organized during the Foundation Day week such as "Stay Fit - Stay Healthy," "Grow a Plant - Save the Planet," "Swachh Bharat Swasth Bharat," "Sewa Hi Sankalp," and "Cent Intellica." 

As part of these initiatives, more than 25,000 saplings were planted across the country. On this occasion, the Bank launched several customer-friendly products. A Handbook on Customer Service & Grievance Handling was also formally launched by the Chief Guest M. Nagaraju. M. V. Murali Krishna, Executive Director, Central Bank of India, delivered the vote of thanks.
