Chain snatcher held within hours in Kompally

Pet-Basheerabad Police swiftly solved a chain snatching case reported at Jayabheri Park, Kompally, and arrested the accused within hours while recovering the stolen gold chain intact. According to police, the incident took place on May 25 when complainant Bijjam Malleswari, proprietor of a local oil store, was alone at her shop. The accused allegedly entered the store, threw oil bottles at her, assaulted her causing bleeding injuries, and snatched her gold wedding chain weighing about 30.453 grams before fleeing.

Alert local residents chased and caught the accused, identified as Malladi Narasimha alias Nani, 23, a native of East Godavari district staying at a hostel in Ameerpet. Police later took him into custody.

Investigation revealed he recently quit his job and resorted to theft for easy money.
