In a significant relief to citizens, the Chandrayangutta Police successfully recovered 32 lost mobile phones and handed them over to their rightful owners on Saturday. The phones were traced and retrieved by the Crime Team operating under the Chandrayangutta Police Station limits.

The recovered devices were formally returned to the victims during a programme held at the police station premises. Assistant Commissioner of Police A. Sudhakar attended the event and shared details of the recovery efforts.

According to police officials, the Crime Team, under the supervision of the Station House Officer (SHO) and Detective Inspector (DI), used advanced technical tools to trace and recover the mobile phones. So far in 2026, a total of 32 phones have been successfully retrieved in the station’s jurisdiction.

The ACP advised citizens not to panic if they lose their mobile phones and urged them to immediately lodge complaints through the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal. He stated that timely complaints through the CEIR system played a key role in identifying and tracking the missing devices quickly.

Police also warned the public to remain alert against potential online frauds and unauthorised transactions that may occur through lost phones. Officials informed that a special team has been set up in every police station to focus exclusively on mobile phone recovery cases.

Victims expressed gratitude to the Chandrayangutta Police and the Crime Team for their swift action.
