Railway Board Chairman inspects development works in Kazipet

Railway Board Chairman and CEO Satish Kumar conducted a detailed inspection of the ongoing development works at the Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit (RMU) and the Jangaon Amrit Station on Sunday. He was accompanied by South Central Railway General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava, Secunderabad Divisional Railway Manager Dr. R. Gopalakrishnan and other senior railway officials. 

The Chairman began his review at Kazipet Railway Station, where he inspected the ongoing Amrit Station redevelopment works and assessed passenger amenities being upgraded as part of the modernization project. Later, he visited the Kazipet Railway Manufacturing Unit, being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 597.68 crore. The facility is designed for the production and maintenance of modern rolling stock, including next-generation railway coaches. 

Officials from RVNL (Rail Vikas Nigam Limited) presented a miniature model of the project site at the field office and explained the layout and functional zones of the unit.He also inspected major facilities such as the main shed, bogie shop, paint shop, wheel shop and testing shop. Chairman Satish Kumar interacted with media and explained the significance of the RMU project and its expected benefits in strengthening railway manufacturing capacity and improving operational efficiency. 

The Chairman also conducted a review of the rail route between Kazipet and Charlapalli, assessing ongoing works along the corridor. He further inspected the Jangaon Railway Station, reviewing passenger facilities and redevelopment works currently in progress. Hanumakonda District Collector Chahat Bajpai welcomed the Railway Board Chairman at the Kazipet station. A brief discussion was held regarding ongoing railway development works in the Kazipet region and the progress of the manufacturing unit.
