In a special initiative to assist victims of cyber fraud, the Cyberabad Police conducted a “De-Freeze Bank Accounts Camp” at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate auditorium. During the camp, NOCs were issued to account holders whose bank accounts had been frozen as part of ongoing cybercrime investigations.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) T. Sai Manohar said the camp was organized to address genuine account holders’ issues promptly and ensure justice. The Cybercrime team carefully examined 110 bank accounts frozen through the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), verifying account details and transaction histories. Genuine account holders were identified, and their accounts were unfrozen following legal procedures.

DCP Sai Manohar emphasized that the camp not only provided relief to legitimate account holders but also reinforced safe banking practices. Awareness was shared on steps to prevent account misuse and protect funds. He also warned that strict action would continue against cybercriminals.

The Cyberabad Police urged victims of online fraud to immediately contact the National Cybercrime Helpline at 1930 or lodge complaints on the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (https://www.cybercrime.gov.in). Accounts suspected of being linked to fraud may be frozen temporarily to prevent further losses, but genuine account holders will be promptly identified and assisted.

Victims who received NOCs expressed relief and satisfaction. Officers present at the event included Cybercrime ACP Ravinder Reddy, Inspectors Vijay Kumar, Shivaprasad, Durga Ramalingaprasad, Ramireddy, Raghavender, Madhu, and Sub-Inspectors Chandrashekhar and Srinivas Goud, among others.

The police reiterated key precautions: never share account details, OTPs, or personal information with strangers, and remain alert to suspicious calls, messages, or online offers.
