Pune, India: Chicago Pneumatic India has announced the launch of its new CPS 950-300 portable air compressor, engineered to meet the evolving demands of waterwell, mining and solar foundation drilling applications. Combining high-performance air delivery, fuel efficiency and operational versatility, the compressor is designed to help contractors drill deeper, complete projects faster and improve operating profitability.
The drilling industry is witnessing growing operational pressures as contractors contend with deeper drilling requirements, difficult and varying ground conditions, declining groundwater tables, rising operating costs, and increasingly stringent project deadlines. At the same time, the surge in solar infrastructure development is fuelling demand for high-volume foundation drilling, making productivity, precision, and reliability more important than ever.
The CPS 950-300 delivers 950 cfm at 300 psig, providing the airflow and pressure required for demanding borewell and foundation drilling applications. With up to 10% higher fuel efficiency, the compressor helps reduce fuel consumption while maintaining consistent drilling performance and effective hole cleaning. Designed for drilling depths of up to 800 feet, the CPS 950-300 enables contractors to address deeper drilling requirements while supporting lower operating costs and improved project productivity.
Commenting on the launch, Mr. Prasanna Kulkarni, General Manager – Power Technique Customer Center, Atlas Copco (India) Pvt. Ltd., said, “Drilling operations are ultimately measured by productivity, efficiency and profitability. The CPS 950-300 has been designed around these priorities, delivering the performance and fuel efficiency contractors need to operate more effectively and control costs.
Its versatility across waterwell, mining and solar foundation drilling also enables customers to maximise equipment utilisation and explore new business opportunities.”The CPS 950-300 gives contractors the flexibility to address diverse drilling requirements with a single machine - from deeper waterwell drilling and challenging mining conditions to high-volume solar foundation projects. By enabling contractors to drill deeper, complete projects faster, reduce fuel consumption and maximise equipment utilisation, the compressor helps improve fleet productivity, expand service offerings, strengthen project margins and unlock additional revenue opportunities.
