Marking the first anniversary of the historic 2024 Andhra Pradesh Assembly election results, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu took to social media platform X  to express gratitude to the people of the state and reaffirm his government’s commitment to progress, welfare, and democratic values.

Calling June 4, a day that created history in Andhra Pradesh politics, Chandrababu said the people’s decisive mandate had uprooted the regime of “madness and tyranny.” He hailed the verdict as a people’s revolution that restored democracy, ended autocratic misrule, and brought peace, liberty, and dignity back to every citizen.

“It was the day when the authoritarian rulers were overthrown by the power of the people. The frenzy parading in the name of power was chased away. The era of psycho rule ended, and every citizen reclaimed freedom and peace,” the Chief Minister declared in his emotional post.

In a sweeping reflection on the past year, Naidu said the coalition government—comprising the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), Jana Sena, and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)—has treated the public mandate as a solemn responsibility to rebuild the state. “Every single day, we are working with the mission to fulfill the hopes and dreams of our people. We’ve put governance back on track, welfare programs are reaching the grassroots, and development is regaining momentum,” Naidu stated.

Today, I bow my head in remembrance of that momentous victory. Jai Andhra Pradesh… Jai Jai Andhra Pradesh!” he said. Key decisions on prison reforms, women’s safety, quantum computing, and industrial incentives

The Andhra Pradesh state cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, met at the Secretariat on Wednesday and approved a series of decisions aimed at advancing infrastructure, governance, public safety, and digital innovation in the state.

One of the prominent decisions was the cabinet’s approval for the release of 17 life-term prisoners who have shown good behavior, signaling a move towards progressive prison reforms. In another key decision, the government allocated an additional 94.45 acres of land to the Police Academy, enhancing capacity building for law enforcement in the state.

The cabinet cleared viability gap funding for crucial safe drinking water supply projects. Rs.5.75 crore was sanctioned for Uddanam in Srikakulam district, while Rs.8.22 crore was approved for Kuppam constituency. These projects are part of the state’s broader push to ensure reliable access to protected drinking water in vulnerable and drought-prone regions.

The cabinet deliberated on amendments to the 2025 Industrial Law to facilitate ease of doing business. Among the reforms was a significant move to allow women to work night shifts across industries and corporate sectors. To ensure safety and inclusivity, the cabinet made it mandatory for companies to provide secure transportation and safety measures for women working after hours. The government also approved land allocations and concessions to various organizations to support economic development and attract new investments.

The cabinet endorsed decisions made during the recent Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) meeting and gave formal approval to several land allotments made to institutions. It also approved the proposal to promote 248 police constables, reflecting the government’s commitment to boosting morale in the police force.

In recognition of the Chief Minister’s proactive governance, the cabinet passed a resolution commending him for convening 25 cabinet meetings within a year. During the meeting, CM Naidu revealed that the Union Government has shown a positive response towards the proposed Polavaram–Banakacharla linkage project. He noted that efforts for fund mobilization are underway, which is critical to the project’s timely execution.

Highlighting Andhra Pradesh’s vision to be at the forefront of technological innovation, the cabinet reviewed the proposed Quantum Computing Valley in Amaravati, a first-of-its-kind initiative in India. CM Naidu requested Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to review the architectural designs of the proposed campus. “Quantum computing will redefine productivity. What traditionally takes eight hours can now be done in 12 minutes. This is the future, and Andhra Pradesh will lead it,” Naidu declared, underscoring the project’s transformative potential.

He directed that a P4 office be set up in every assembly constituency, with each district headquarters to have a functional office by June 12. The goal, he said, is to ensure policy delivery is transparent, fast, and citizen-centric.

The cabinet also discussed the Tuni train accident case, with the Chief Minister stressing the need for heightened vigilance in reviewing GOs. “Mistakes must be prevented before they occur, not corrected after damage is done,” he advised. The Home Department Secretary issued a formal apology to the Chief Minister for administrative lapses related to the case.
