Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu issued a stern warning against land grabbing and fraudulent land practices at a Revenue Sadassu held in Edupugallu village, Penamaluru constituency, Krishna district on Friday. The Chief Minister personally received petitions from the public regarding revenue-related issues and addressed the gathering.
CM Naidu declared a zero-tolerance policy towards land encroachment, fraud, and intimidation related to land. He warned that those involved in such activities will face strict legal action, including imprisonment. “Even if someone grabs a cent of land, they will face severe consequences,” he asserted. Further, the Chief Minister assured the public that the government will stand by them until their land-related issues are resolved. He emphasized the government's commitment to finding permanent solutions and rectifying errors in the resurvey process.
CM Naidu reiterated his and the NDA government's commitment to ensuring justice for everyone. He acknowledged the public's trust, demonstrated by their 57% vote share, and affirmed the government's dedication to fulfilling their expectations. “We have been working tirelessly for six months to deliver on your aspirations. My vision and the NDA government's vision are to resolve every issue and deliver justice to all,” he said.
The Chief Minister strongly criticized the previous government, accusing them of dismantling systems, encouraging land grabbing, and creating chaos. He alleged that the previous administration's Land Titling Act jeopardized people's land ownership rights. “We repealed this harmful legislation in our very first cabinet meeting,” he said, emphasizing the importance of protecting people’s land rights. He revealed that over 1,57,481 grievances have been received to date, including petitions related to land records, encroachments, and government land disputes.
CM Naidu highlighted the overwhelming public response to the Revenue Sadassulu, with 95,263 petitions received and approximately 3 lakh people attending. He assured that long-pending issues will be resolved and rightful ownership restored. He announced the introduction of the Land Grabbing Prohibition Act - 2024, which imposes stringent penalties, including imprisonment and substantial fines, on those involved in land grabbing, fraud, and coercion.
The Chief Minister addressed the issue of 176 house plots in a BC colony in Edupugallu, which were wrongly classified under Section 22A. He promised to issue unconditional title deeds to the residents.
CM Naidu acknowledged the numerous complaints regarding errors in the resurvey process and assured that these issues will be addressed. He stated that 2,79,148 complaints were received regarding faulty resurvey and announced plans to modernize land records by implementing QR codes and geo-tagging on passbooks, allowing citizens to access and verify their records easily.
