Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu participated in the pension distribution program held in Yellamanda village, Palnadu district, on Tuesday. He visited beneficiaries' homes and handed over the pension amounts in cash.

The pension distribution under the “NTR Bharosa” scheme commenced early this morning, covering beneficiaries across the state. The government has allocated Rs.2,717 crore for the program, benefiting a total of 63,77,943 pensioners. By mid-day, over 90% of the beneficiaries had already received their pensions.

In Palnadu district, Chief Minister Naidu visited the home of Saramma, a widow who lost her husband during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. For Saramma’s son, who expressed interest in setting up a mobile shop, the Chief Minister instructed the SC Corporation to provide Rs.1 lakh as a loan and an additional Rs.2 lakh as a subsidy.

Naidu also visited the home of another beneficiary, Yedukondalu, where he prepared coffee himself and served it to the family members.
