CM Revanth fast-tracks Young India Schools & Women’s University upgrade

The Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials to ensure the timely completion of the Young India Integrated Residential Schools, a prestigious initiative by the state government. During a review meeting held on Friday, the CM assessed the progress of land acquisition and enquired details about the construction works and timelines.

Officials informed the CM that the tendering process for schools in Kodangal, Madhira, and Huzur Nagar has been completed, and construction will commence on March 20. He instructed senior officials in the old districts to accelerate the land acquisition and permission processes for the remaining constituencies.

Emphasizing accessibility, CM Revanth Reddy directed that locations for the schools should be selected strategically to benefit all areas within the constituencies. He mandated all district Collectors to conduct regular field visits and exercise due diligence in site selection. 

Additionally, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari was instructed to review the land acquisition and site selection process every two days and submit a comprehensive report within ten days of sites in 100 constituencies.  The Chief Minister further ordered that construction begin immediately in areas where land acquisition is complete, aiming for the schools to be operational within two years.

Development of Veeranari Chakali Ilamma women’s university

CM Revanth Reddy also stressed the need to enhance infrastructure at Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Mahila University in Koti, ensuring that facilities meet university-level standards. He instructed authorities to draft plans for the construction of academic and administrative buildings, laboratories, playgrounds, and other essential structures without compromising on quality.

The Chief Minister assured that the government is committed to providing adequate funds for these developments. Additionally, he emphasized preserving the historical and ancient buildings within the university premises, directing officials to collaborate with the Archaeological Department. He also suggested modifications to the building designs to align with future requirements.

The review meeting was attended by Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, Chief Minister’s Advisor Vem Narender Reddy, State Government Advisor (Infrastructure) Srinivasa Raju, Chief Minister’s Secretary Manikraj, Education Secretary Yogita Rana, School Education Commissioner Narasimha Reddy, and Veeranari Chakali Ilamma Women’s University Vice Chancellor Prof Surya Dhananjay, among others.
