CM Revanth hits the ground running with surprise visit to flood-hit areas

11-08-2025 12:00:00 AM

Walking the talk—literally—Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy sprang a surprise on officials and residents alike with an unannounced visit to flood-affected areas of Ameerpet on Sunday. Skipping the usual protocol, the CM personally toured Buddhanagar, Maitrivanam, and Balkampet to assess the damage, speak with locals, and take stock of the ground reality.

In Buddhanagar, he discovered a major flaw in the drainage system—the canal was oddly constructed at a higher level than the colony road, worsening the flooding. On the spot, he ordered a redesign of the system. When residents raised concerns about the illegal conversion of the Gangubai Basti pond into a parking area, the CM didn’t mince words.

He immediately instructed officials to clear encroachments and lay a dedicated trunk line to permanently fix the issue. At Maitrivanam, Revanth inspected waterlogging points, called for detailed reports, and pushed for long-term flood mitigation solutions—not just quick fixes.

In Balkampet, he spent time with locals, listening to their struggles and assessing the extent of flood impact. His directive to officials was clear: act fast, ensure safety, and deliver relief. Sunday's visit showed that for CM Revanth Reddy, action speaks louder than announcements.
