In a shocking turn of events, the Janasena Party has expelled Srikalahasti constituency in-charge Kota Vinutha following her arrest in a murder case involving her former driver. Vinutha, along with her husband and three others, was taken into custody by Chennai Police in connection with the alleged torture and murder of the driver, Srinivasulu alias Rayudu.
The case took a dark twist earlier this week when an unidentified body was recovered from the Cooum River in Chennai. Upon investigation, authorities found tattoos bearing the Janasena symbol and Vinutha’s name on the deceased, leading them to suspect foul play. Further inquiry, supported by CCTV footage, revealed that the victim was subjected to brutal torture before being killed.
Chennai police traced the incident back to Vinutha and her close associates. The arrested individuals include Vinutha’s husband Chandra Babu and three others—Shivakumar, Gopi, and Dasar. All five have been brought to Srikalahasti for further interrogation.
In response to the gravity of the case, the Janasena Party acted swiftly, announcing Vinutha’s immediate expulsion. A party statement said that her conduct was inconsistent with party values and principles, and clarified that she had already been distanced from party activities in recent months due to her controversial behaviour.
Addressing the media in Tirupati, Janasena district president Pasupuleti Hariprasad stated that “The party will not tolerate any involvement in criminal activities. The moment the leadership was informed of the murder charges against Vinutha, we decided to expel her. Her actions are completely against the spirit and ethics of Janasena.”
