Collector calls for effective implementation of “health week”

District Collector P. Praveenya on Monday instructed officials to coordinate and ensure the successful implementation of “Health Week” programs being organized in the district as part of the Praja Palana Pragathi program. The aim of the week is to increase health awareness among the public. The Collector chaired a District Task Force meeting at the Collectorate camp office to review the “Health Week” activities being held from April 6 to 11 with the objective of strengthening health services and raising health awareness among people.

During the meeting, the Collector reviewed the day-wise programs, district-level action plan and measures to create awareness among the public. She instructed officials to take steps to ensure wide participation of the public, people's representatives, women, and youth in these programs. The Collector particularly emphasized organizing large-scale rallies on the occasion of World Health Day to create awareness about health among the people. 

As part of Health Week, she directed officials to create complete awareness on the following themes- April 7: World Health Day, April 8: Safe Motherhood Day, April 9: AIDS Awareness and Prevention Day, April 10: Homeopathy and AYUSH Day, April 11: Drug Control Strengthening Day.
