In Kumram Bheem Asifabad district, Collector Haritha instructed MGNREGA workers to follow strict safety measures amid rising temperatures. She advised workers to use head covers, ORS packets, sufficient drinking water and shaded rest facilities at work sites. Officials were directed to ensure all basic amenities are available at every work location. She also asked workers to avoid work during peak heat hours between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. and complete work early in the morning to prevent health risks.
Road safety awareness programmes were conducted in the district, where the Collector stressed the importance of wearing helmets and seat belts and following traffic rules. She warned against underage driving, overspeeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.
She urged Class 10 completed students to utilize free coaching centres for POLYCET and Gurukulam entrance examinations. She also inspected educational institutions and directed officials to examine the feasibility of establishing model schools in the district.
A review meeting was held on the progress of mobile tower installations by BSNL, Airtel, Jio and T-Fibre. The Collector said 24 towers sanctioned under the Digital Bharat Nidhi scheme should be completed quickly. She directed officials to conduct joint surveys and clear revenue and forest-related issues to improve internet connectivity in remote villages.
