Collector instructs officials to ensure well being of students

District Collector Sneha Shabarish on Monday directed officials to ensure that students studying in government-run educational institutions, including gurukul schools, degree and junior colleges, Zilla Parishad schools, primary schools and other government institutions do not face any inconvenience. The Collector conducted surprise inspections at the Government Degree College, Government Junior College, and Tribal Girls Welfare School in Kesamudram town. During the visit, she reviewed the quality of teaching, overall administration of the institutions, campus cleanliness, store rooms, and kitchen facilities.

She instructed the authorities to strictly follow the government-prescribed menu for student meals and maintain hygienic surroundings across the campuses. Warning officials against negligence in the discharge of their duties, the Collector said any lapse would not be tolerated. She also directed officials to ensure that all government welfare programs related to education and healthcare for economically disadvantaged students are implemented effectively and reach the beneficiaries without interruption. During the visit, Collector Sneha Shabarish also launched a deworming program by administering anti-helminthic tablets to students at the Gurukul school.
