Mulugu District Collector Borkhade Hemanth Sahadeo Rao on Tuesday directed officials to accelerate development works at Medaram while ensuring seamless coordination for sanitation and Van Mahotsav programmes ahead of upcoming activities in the temple town.
Chairing a review meeting at the Haritha Hotel in Medaram, the Collector assessed the progress of infrastructure works related to the Sammakka-Saralamma temple area and instructed departments to complete pending projects on priority. He emphasised that the annual Van Mahotsav should be conducted on a large scale by planting saplings across Medaram and surrounding villages.
The Collector asked District Panchayat, Mandal Development and Panchayat Raj officials to prepare a coordinated action plan and ensure adequate supply of saplings from Forest Department nurseries. He also stressed the importance of maintaining high sanitation standards in and around Medaram to provide a clean and hygienic environment for devotees and visitors. Additional Collectors CH Mahender and M. Sampath Rao, temple priests and officials from various departments attended the review meeting.
