Mahabubabad Superintendent of Police Dr Shabarish, IPS, launched the wall posters for Operation Muskaan-12 at the Town Police Station Conference Hall, announcing a month-long special drive to rescue vulnerable children across the district from July 1 to July 31.
Addressing officials from the police, Women and Child Welfare Department, Labour Department, Revenue Department, Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and NGOs, the SP said the campaign aims to identify and rescue child labourers, children engaged in begging, and missing children. Special focus will be placed on inspections at brick kilns, hotels, industries, workshops, bus stands, railway stations and other public places.
He directed the formation of dedicated task force teams and instructed all departments to work in close coordination for the success of the operation. The SP warned that strict legal action would be taken against employers found engaging children as labourers.
Dr Shabarish also said the police would use the DARPAN app with facial recognition technology to trace missing children quickly. He appealed to the public to report cases of child labour, child begging or missing children to the nearest police station and support the success of Operation Muskaan-12.
