Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud has announced that the Congress Party will soon file a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the issue of BC reservations in local bodies.
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, Mahesh Kumar Goud said he had a detailed meeting with AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, during which he briefed him on the recent developments in Telangana, including the High Court’s proceedings on BC reservations.
“I have explained to Kharge ji about the High Court issue and our plan to approach the Supreme Court. We will file the petition at the earliest,” Mahesh Kumar Goud said.
He also informed that a Zoom meeting was already held with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and other senior leaders to discuss the legal course of action. “Congress leaders will also actively participate in the government’s petition on this issue,” he added.
Clarifying reports of internal differences, the TPCC Chief said, “There are no differences among Congress leaders. At most, there was a small communication gap — we are all one family and will resolve everything together.” He was replying to a question on reported differences between Ministers Konda Surekha and Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy regarding works being taken up for Medaram Jatara.
He further stated that Kharge ji is in good health, and they also spoke about his wellbeing during the meeting.
