Bringing new momentum to Andhra Pradesh’s long-delayed capital city project, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday inaugurated the newly built CRDA (Capital Region Development Authority) office complex in Amaravati, marking the true restart of the capital’s journey. The Chief Minister directed officials to accelerate all pending construction works in Amaravati with defined deadlines and assured that funds would not be a constraint for the city’s development.

The event, attended by Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar, State Minister Dr. P. Narayana, and several legislators, symbolized the revival of Amaravati’s dream after years of stagnation. The CRDA office, the first major government complex to be completed in the capital region has also received the Net Zero Energy (Design) Certification from the Indian Green Building Council, recognizing it as a sustainable and energy-efficient facility.

Following the inauguration, Naidu toured the seven-storey building, personally inspecting each department and reviewing the layout and functional readiness. Later, in a high-level review meeting, he discussed the progress of infrastructure works, directing officials to speed up execution once the monsoon season ends. “Even if rains have slowed progress, the work must move at full pace once the weather clears.

Bring in additional workforce and machinery if required. There will be no financial barriers, the Finance Department has my clear instructions,” Naidu assured.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the revival of Amaravati is not just an infrastructure task but an emotional commitment to the farmers who had given their lands for the capital. Turning emotional, he recalled the hardships faced by farmers, especially women, during the last five years, when the capital was pushed into neglect and humiliation. He reiterated his promise to stand by them. “Your sacrifice will not go in vain. I have witnessed your pain, and I will ensure you see the fruits of your struggle.”

Drawing parallels with his earlier vision for Hyderabad’s Hi-Tech City, Naidu said skeptics had once mocked his plans, yet today the area contributes nearly 70% of Telangana’s revenue. “Just as Hyderabad rose from a vision, Amaravati will emerge as India’s next global city, built through self-financing and land value creation, not government debt,” he declared. Naidu described Amaravati as a city that will blend blue, green, and modern green technology, positioning it as a world-class eco-smart capital with advanced underground service ducts and flood-resistant systems.

Highlighting the double-engine government of the NDA, Naidu said the state’s coordination with the Centre, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, would propel Andhra Pradesh towards the 2047 vision of a developed India. He urged farmers to evolve as entrepreneurs, citing Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar’s rise from a modest background as inspiration.

With the CRDA office inauguration, Naidu declared that the construction journey of Amaravati has formally resumed. He announced plans to soon hold another meeting with the farmers to formulate a concrete action plan for resolving their pending issues and accelerating capital development.
