Crime rate decreased in Tirupati district: SP

The crime rate in Tirupati district has come down significantly in the last six months, said District SP Subbaraidu. Speaking to the media on Monday, the SP said that crime control has been achieved with strong security arrangements.

He said that while cyber crimes have increased, the criminals involved have been arrested and justice has been done to the victims. He said that Cyber Crime Weeks have been organized in colleges and universities.

He said that strong security has been provided to all the VIPs who visited Tirumala and that they have been vigilant to prevent any untoward incidents.

He said that road accidents have decreased with the organization of Road Safety Weeks . He also said that the illegal trafficking of red sandalwood has been stopped in the Seshachalam forest area and that smugglers have backtracked after the imposition of PD acts.

He advised people to celebrate the New Year with caution. He warned that strict action will be taken if they behave in a disorderly manner and declared that DJs are not allowed in the city.
