Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Telugu matinee Idol Pawan Kalyan on Monday surprised everyone by his forthright reaction on Sandhya Theatre stampede incident in which a lady Revathi died and her Sri Tej is battling for life in a hospital.

He found fault with Allu Arjun, his family and his personal team for not immediately responding to the tragic incident in a humane way.

He also took exception to Allu Arjun not visting the victim’s family and consoling them immediately after the incident. He said law would be equal to every one.

In the same breath, he gave a clean chit to Hyderabad police. When asked whether CM Revanth was taking action against Allu Arjun as the latter forgot to mention TG CM’s name at a film function, Pawan Kalyan dismissed the speculation as baseless.

Pawan Kalyan refuted the claim that Allu Arjun was arrested because he forgot Revanth Reddy’s name in an event. He praised Revanth Reddy as a level-headed leader who rose from the grassroots.

He said that even if Revanth had been in Allu Arjun’s place in the stampede incident, he would have been arrested and there should be no exceptions for anyone. He said that the CM was doing his job according to the law and there was no need to blame anyone for this.

The tragic incident took place Dec 4 mid night at the benefit show of Allu Arjun’s film “Pushpa2 in Sandhya Theatre.

Dwelling further on the matter, Pawan Kalyan said that he does not know details of the entire incident involving Allu Arjun. He felt that the theater staff should have warned Allu Arjun before he visited the theatre or should have asked him to leave when he wanted to watch the film with audience.

He felt that Allu Arjun might not have heard anyone informing about the stampede in the melee. 

Pawan Kalyan opined that it would have been better had Allu Arjun visited the victim’s family earlier, before the entire incident became heated debate in media platforms. “If not Allu Arjun, his personal team should have paid a visit to the victim’s family and consoled them. This would have proved that humanity still exists.

Pawan said that the Revanth government is providing the necessary assistance to the Telangana film industry. That is why Revanth has increased ticket prices and given the opportunity for benefit shows like never before. The AP Deputy Chief Minister gave a compliment saying that Revanth's rule in Telangana is good.

Allu Arjun's Case Adjourned

The hearing on the bail petition filed by actor Allu Arjun in the Sandhya Theater stampede case concluded today in the Nampally court. The Chikkadapalli police filed a counter affidavit requesting not to grant bail to the accused. However, Allu Arjun's lawyers argued for granting bail. The court, which concluded the arguments of both sides, adjourned the verdict to January 3.

Allu Arjun's lawyer Niranjan Reddy's arguments: 

Allu Arjun has no connection with the Sandhya Theater incident. The case registered by the police under BNS Section 105  alleging that he was responsible for Revathi's death is not applicable. The lawyer said that the High Court has already granted interim relief in this case. The lawyer requested that regular bail be granted.

Public Prosecutor's arguments:   If Allu Arjun is granted bail, he will influence the witnesses with his influence. He may not cooperate with the police investigation. Hence, the bail petition filed by hmi, should be dismissed.
