Major boost for BIRD Hospital
The trusts run under the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) have received a fresh wave of generous contributions, with corporate groups and individual devotees making donations worth crores of rupees in a single day. A significant portion of the funds went to the Balaji Institute of Surgery, Research and Rehabilitation for the Disabled (BIRD), which provides medical and rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities.
Hyderabad-based retail giant RSB Retail India Limited donated Rs.2,92,91,840 to the TTD’s BIRD Trust. In addition, RS Brothers Jewellers Pvt. Ltd. extended another Rs.1.10 crore, taking the combined contribution from the two companies to over Rs.4 crore for the hospital.
In another act of devotion, J. RamAnjaneyulu, a devotee from Narasaraopet, contributed Rs.10 lakh to the Sri Venkateswara Anna Prasadam Trust, which feeds lakhs of pilgrims daily. His donation, officials said, would support the free meal scheme that remains one of the most cherished services offered by TTD.
TTD Chairman B.R. Naidu shared details of the contributions on social media and lauded the donors for their generosity. He said such acts of philanthropy not only strengthen TTD’s service initiatives but also ensure that the benefits reach lakhs of devotees and underprivileged beneficiaries.
