CS directs strengthening of CCTNS system in Andhra Pradesh

Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad has directed the police department to take necessary steps to strengthen the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS).

Addressing a state-level apex committee meeting on CCTNS and Integrated Criminal Justice System (ICJS) on Tuesday, the Chief Secretary emphasized the need to adhere to the guidelines and regulations set by the central government. He instructed the police department to procure necessary software, hardware, and other security equipment after thorough technical evaluation.

The Chief Secretary informed the meeting that the Southern Zonal Council meeting is scheduled for January 31st and suggested that the state should raise issues related to the effective implementation of CCTNS and seek additional central support. He also directed the officials to submit a state action plan to the central government.

The CS reiterated the importance of strictly adhering to the guidelines and regulations of the Ministry of Home Affairs in the implementation of this project. 

Earlier in the meeting, the nodal officer for CCTNS and Vijayawada Police Commissioner Rajesh Kumar presented a PowerPoint presentation detailing the implementation of CCTNS and ICJS projects. He informed that the state had submitted an action plan to the Ministry of Home Affairs, seeking Rs. 238 crore for the implementation of these projects, of which Rs. 88 crore has been sanctioned.
