The Congress party took out a protest rally in Hyderabad on Tuesday, demanding the ouster of Home Minister Amit Shah from the Union Cabinet for allegedly insulting the founding father of the Indian Constitution Dr. B. R. Ambedkar.
Led by Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee ( TPCC) President Mahesh Kumar Goud, the protest rally was held from the Ambedkar statue near Tank Bund to Hyderabad Collectorate. Later, the Congress leaders presented a petition addressed to President Draupadi Murmu to the Hyderabad Collector.
MP Anil Yadav, TPCC working president Anjan Kumar Yadav, National leader Koppula Raju, former MP V Hanumantha Rao, DCC President Rohin Reddy and party activists in large numbers took part in the protest rally.
Speaking on the occasion, TPCC President Mahesh Kumar Goud demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to remove Amit Shah from the post of Union Minister immediately.
He alleged that the BJP government at the Centre was trying to change the Constitution and the BJP’s true colour was exposed with Amit Shah's derogatory comments against Ambedkar.
"It is shameful that a case has been registered against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, who is democratically condemning the BJP's insult to Ambedkar," he criticised.
The TPCC president reiterated that the Congress party would continue to fight until the action was taken against Amit Shah.
