Telangana releases Rs 12.99 Crore to 8,662 affected families

The Government of Telangana has sanctioned and released Rs 12.99 crore as immediate financial assistance to families whose houses were partially or fully damaged due to heavy rains and floods triggered by Cyclone Montha between October 27-30, 2025.
As per reports submitted by District Collectors, a total of 8,662 houses across 15 districts were damaged. Each affected family will receive Rs 15,000 directly into their bank accounts through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
The cyclonic led to widespread inundation, damage to private and public property, and loss of crops, livestock and human lives. Additional relief packages, including ex-gratia to families of the deceased (Rs 5 lakh), compensation for loss of cattle, goats/sheep and clothing, will be processed separately as per SDRF guidelines. The Government of Telangana assured all possible support to the affected families and is committed to speedy rehabilitation.
