Telangana's Minister for Industries and Information Technology, D Sridhar Babu, has been invited by the Government of Victoria and the Australian Government to deliver the keynote address at AusBiotech 2025. Telangana is the only Indian state to receive such an invitation, marking a significant recognition on the global stage.

On Wednesday, Australian Consul General Ms. Hilary McGeachy met with Minister Sridhar Babu to reaffirm his participation and discuss deeper collaborations between Telangana and Australia in areas such as healthcare innovation, artificial intelligence, R&D, and advanced manufacturing.

The invitation reflects the remarkable progress of Telangana’s life sciences ecosystem, which has attracted over Rs 63,000 crore in investments in just two years under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Minister Sridhar Babu. Hyderabad is now ranked among the top seven global life sciences clusters and is the only Indian city on the list, according to a CBRE report.

Australia-Telangana ties have been steadily growing. Earlier this year, the Governor and Minister for Finance and Trade of Queensland visited Hyderabad for BioAsia 2025, highlighting a mutual commitment to innovation and partnership. A strong Australian delegation is also expected at BioAsia 2026.

Minister Sridhar Babu’s keynote at AusBiotech 2025 stands as a powerful testament to Telangana’s leadership in life sciences and its expanding role within Australia’s innovation network—cementing its status as a global hub for biotech, pharma, and medtech.
