Andhra Pradesh Minister for Housing, Information and Public Relations Kolusu Parthasarathi, on Friday launched an innovative nutrition support initiative named "Nara Lokesh Vidya Amrutham" under the aegis of his late father, former Member of Parliament Kolusu Peda Reddaiah Charitable Trust. The program aims to provide nutritious meals to Class 10 students in government high schools across the Nuzvid Assembly constituency, underscoring the belief that education is the royal road to progress.
The launch took place at the Zilla Parishad High School in Agiripalli mandal, where the minister flagged off vehicles carrying supplies to various schools. He also distributed certificates and medals to students who excelled in sports, handed over sports equipment donated by philanthropists, and planted saplings on the school premises. In his address at the event, Minister Parthasarathi praised the state government for fulfilling election promises and working tirelessly to elevate Andhra Pradesh's national standing.
The minister recalled that his father was a “man of the people”, and through this charitable trust, his legacy is being continued by supporting government programs and community service in the constituency. The initiative focuses on Class 10 students in government high schools to enhance concentration, improve performance, and secure better results in public examinations.
Starting from Friday, nutritious evening snacks will be provided daily at 4 PM to students in government schools across Nuzvid town, Agiripalli, Musunuru, and Chatrai mandals. The program covers 32 government high schools in the Nuzvid constituency, benefiting 1,836 students. Nutritious snacks will be supplied for 100 days until the public exams. The weekly cost is approximately Rs 1.5 lakh, totaling around Rs 20 lakh over the 100-day period.
