The Telangana Seed Law Committee has intensified efforts to draft a comprehensive Seed Act. A key meeting was held at the Agriculture Commissioner's office in Basheerbagh, chaired by Committee Convenor and Agriculture Director B. Gopi. Members including Seed Corporation Chairman Anvesh Reddy, Bhoomi Sunil, Donthi Narasimha Reddy, Srinivas Reddy, Shiv Prasad, and senior agriculture officials participated.

The committee has already toured Warangal, Hanumakonda, Khammam, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Gadwal, and Nizamabad districts to gather farmers' feedback. They also consulted seed companies, dealers, agricultural scientists, and officials. Recently, a study tour to Haryana offered insights into the implementation of their seed law and farmers' opinions there.

This meeting focused on framing the draft—discussing what provisions and safeguards should be included for Telangana. Another session is planned for the upcoming Monday to finalize key sections. If required, expert suggestions from experienced stakeholders in the seed sector will be sought. Director Gopi also stated that measures are being taken to ensure timely availability of quality seeds and fertilizers to farmers.
