16th “Telugu Velugu Samakhya” held

The Telugu Velugu Samakhya program, jointly organized every month by Yuvabharati Sahiti Samskruthika Samstha and IIMC College, held its 16th meeting in collaboration with the Rangaiah Neelavathi Foundation at the IIMC College auditorium in Lakdikapul on Monday.Professor E. Ramakrishna, Head of the Telugu Department of IIMC College, welcomed the guests and stated that the “Telugu Velugu” programs were being conducted with the aim of spreading the richness of the Telugu language and literature through a partnership with Yuvabharati.

Presiding over the program, Professor Vangapalli Vishwanatham praised the efforts made by IIMC College for the promotion of the Telugu language and literature. On this occasion, Professor Kasireddy Venkat Reddy unveiled the special edition of the national seminar “Sahiti Moorthula Sahitya Samalochana” that the college had grandly organized on September 10.Dr. G.L.K. Durga, Vice President of Yuvabharati, said that every individual should strive to learn and practice good values throughout life.

Chief guest Ayachitam Sridhar, former President of the Telangana State Library Council, delivered a speech analyzing the beauty and sweetness found in the sataka padyalu (hundred-verse poetry) of Telugu literature.Principal Kura Raghuveer mentioned that IIMC College currently has around 1,500 students enrolled in various courses and that their collective excellence has helped the institution earn an A+ grade. 

The college has also received ISO certification for providing value-based education, and its library holds more than one lakh books for student use.Guest of honor I. Murali, Secretary of Rangaiah Neelavathi Foundation, expressed his happiness at collaborating on the Telugu Velugu initiative, calling it a creative and effective program for promoting the Telugu language in partnership with multiple organizations.

Subsequently, the first award from the Rangaiah Neelavathi Foundation was presented to Professor Kasireddy Venkat Reddy in recognition of his outstanding service to Telugu literature. The award included a cash prize of Rs 10,000 and an honorary citation.Young literary researcher and lyricist Dr. Tirunagari Sharath Chandra, Associate Professor at Nizam College, read out the biography of Professor Kasireddy Venkat Reddy during the felicitation ceremony.

Later Professor Kasireddy Venkat Reddy delivered a lecture to the students on the topic “Values and Culture Through Literature,” quoting several examples and thought-provoking ideas.The event was organized with the participation of Yuvabharati members Amati Ravindra and Narayan Reddy, along with IIMC College faculty, staff, students, and literature enthusiasts.
