Emergency meet condemns death treat received by Shankaracharya

An emergency meeting was held on Sunday at the Srividya Math located at Shankaracharya Ghat to condemn the death threat received by Jagadguru Shankaracharya Swami Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati, the head of Jyotirpeeth. The meeting expressed deep anger over the life threat received by the Shankaracharya over the phone and the subsequent insensitive and allegedly suspicious role played by the Varanasi administration, particularly the Bhelupur police station. 

Under the leadership of senior advocate Shrikant Tripathi, the meeting demanded immediate amendment of the FIR to include the strictest possible sections, prompt arrest of the accused and departmental action against the responsible officers for negligence. While briefing the media about the meeting, Sanjay Pandey, the media in-charge of Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj, stated that the Government of India should immediately provide Z+ category security to Paramadhish Jagadguru Shankaracharya Ji Maharaj, keeping in mind the sentiments of Sanatanis.
